IT Support Specialist

Job description

Datum Labs is seeking an IT Support Specialist to join our Service Desk function. In this role, you will handle Level 1.5 to 2  IT support tasks, including responding to workplace requests, resolving incidents, and managing monitoring alerts. As the first point of contact for end-users, you will play a key role in ensuring operational efficiency and an exceptional user experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for IT support requests, ensuring timely and professional responses.
  • Manage and resolve IT incidents and service requests through a ticketing system.
  • Provide technical support for Windows, macOS, and Linux systems.
  • Troubleshoot basic networking issues, including Wi-Fi connectivity and configurations.
  • Monitor system alerts and perform initial troubleshooting or escalate issues when necessary.
  • Assist end-users with hardware, software, and system-related issues.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of incidents, requests, and resolutions.
  • Adhere to IT service desk processes, SLAs, and communication protocols.

Qualifications & Skills

Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in IT support or service desk roles.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Windows, macOS, and Linux systems.
  • Basic networking knowledge, including Wi-Fi troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with IT monitoring tools and ticketing systems.
  • Experience with workplace technologies such as:
    • Atlassian Apps
    • MS Office/Office 365
    • Firewall Rules
    • Nagios/Zabbix or similar monitoring tools

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication and customer service orientation.
  • Problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.

Education:

  • A degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
